Agartala, November 18, 2025: In a major strike on narcotics trafficking, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Customs Department, seized 800 grams of high-grade cocaine during a joint operation in central Agartala on Monday.

Officials estimate the value of the contraband at around ₹8 crore, making it one of the biggest cocaine recoveries reported in Tripura in recent months.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the joint team intercepted two individuals allegedly involved in the trafficking attempt and took them into custody. Further investigation is underway to identify the broader network linked to the seized consignment.

Security officials said the successful operation reflects the continued efforts of Assam Rifles to combat drug trafficking across the Northeast. The force reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the region, particularly its youth, from the growing threat of narcotics.
