Agartala, September 22, 2025: Tripura police achieved a breakthrough on Sunday by arresting a suspected drug peddler from Sonamura’s motor stand area in Sepahijala District following a tip-off.

The accused has been identified as Abdur Rob (27), a resident of Assam and was found carrying a bag full of ganja at the time of his arrest.

Police sources said they had received information that a drug dealer was roaming in the Sonamura area with a large quantity of narcotics. Acting swiftly, the police team apprehended the youth near the motor stand.

The arrested person has been taken into custody for interrogation. Preliminary investigations indicate that more individuals may be linked to the case. Police officials added that efforts are underway to trace the entire network involved.
