Agartala, September 19, 2025: The Tripura Assembly on Friday unanimously passed a resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and the country’s Armed Forces for the success of Operation Sindoor.

The resolution, moved by Chief Minister Manik Saha on the opening day of the Assembly session, termed the operation a “historic milestone” in India’s fight against terrorism. Launched on May 7 in retaliation to the April 22 Pakistan-backed terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the strike inflicted major damage on terror infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

“The Assembly extends sincere respect to the Prime Minister, Defence Minister, National Security Advisor, Chiefs of Defence Forces and BSF, and all the brave soldiers who vowed to protect the motherland,” the resolution read.

Saha recalled that 26 people, including one Nepalese citizen, were brutally killed in the April 22 attack. “The Prime Minister assured the nation that terrorists and their sponsors would face a befitting reply. Operation Sindoor delivered on that promise,” he said.

According to the resolution, the offensive destroyed multiple militant bases and training camps inside Pakistan, killing a large number of terrorists. In retaliation, Pakistan shelled Indian territory, but the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force jointly carried out missile strikes, damaging Pakistani military assets without civilian casualties.

Saha said the operation proved India’s growing defence capability and demonstrated that “every attack by Pakistan is being repelled with courage and skill.”

The resolution further underlined that India, while being a worshipper of peace and non-violence, will not hesitate to strike at terror havens across the border when national security is threatened.
