Agartala, January 30, 2025: Tripura Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a scathing attack on the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)], accusing it of spreading misinformation and attempting to disrupt the state’s progress.
Speaking to media persons here in Agartala city on Thursday, BJP state spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty alleged that the CPI(M) held a public meeting yesterday to “mislead the people” as they are unable to tolerate the state’s development under BJP rule.
“In their public meeting yesterday, Prakash Karat, the former Chief Minister and other CPI(M) leaders deliberately misled the people by making baseless claims. They refuse to acknowledge the development that Tripura has witnessed under the BJP government,” said Chakraborty.
He further alleged, “For 35 years, the CPI(M) ruled Tripura by dividing democracy. Their main work was to promote corruption and deprive people of their rights. Today, under BJP rule, they are unable to tolerate the positive transformation of the state.”
Chakraborty criticized the CPI(M) for its past political strategies, claiming that the party forced people to attend their rallies. “The CPI(M) had a history of coercion, making people join their processions under duress. But under the leadership of Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha, Tripura has moved beyond that dark era. The state is now progressing under the vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he asserted.
According to the BJP spokesperson, the CPI(M) is attempting to create unrest in the state because they cannot accept the BJP’s success in eliminating anarchy. “Their only goal is to disrupt Tripura’s development and push it back into disorder. But the people of Tripura have rejected their politics of division, and the BJP government remains committed to the state’s progress,” Chakraborty affirmed.
