Agartala, June 24, 2025: Tripura Pradesh BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee on Tuesday accused the Congress of long-standing neglect of the Northeast and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the region’s recent progress in connectivity, literacy, and digital development.

No Prime Minister, apart from Narendra Modi, has made consistent efforts to visit and uplift this region.”

He praised Modi’s initiatives, asserting that the present central government has shown unprecedented commitment to bridging historical gaps. “Under Modi ji’s leadership, the Northeast has been brought into the mainstream of India’s development,” he stated.

Referring to the Ullas-Nav Bharat Literacy Program, Bhattacharjee extended gratitude to the volunteers, teachers, and students involved in educating illiterate citizens above the age of 15. “These selfless individuals worked without any remuneration or personal interest. They are our true literacy soldiers,” he said.

He also thanked Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha for their support in achieving this success. “Today, India is not only focusing on general literacy but also excelling in mathematical, banking, and digital literacy on a global scale,” Bhattacharjee added.
