Agartala, November 21, 2025: In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) Agartala seized a huge consignment of Yaba tablets valued at more than ₹8.21 crore during a joint operation on National Highway-08 on Friday morning.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs regarding the movement of drugs from Agartala towards Bishramganj, a Mobile Check Post (MCP) was set up around 8:30 am in front of Gate No. 01 of SHQ BSF Gokulnagar. During checking, a Suzuki Eeco van bearing registration number TR01CH-0353 attempted to escape the MCP and sped away towards Udaipur via the Bishalgarh Bypass. The joint team immediately initiated a hot pursuit.

Around 9:30 am, the vehicle was found abandoned near Kalkaliya High School. The area was secured and a detailed search led to the recovery of ten packets of Yaba tablets weighing approximately 10 kg, estimated to be worth ₹8 crore.

In addition, three cartons of Etaddol 100/Tapentadol 100 mg tablets comprising around 750 boxes (each containing 100 tablets) valued at ₹20,32,500/-, Indian currency amounting to ₹25,400/-, and the Suzuki Eeco van valued at ₹1,50,000/- were also seized. The total worth of the seizure stands at ₹8,21,78,650/-.

In a separate operation in Sonamura, BSF troops seized 1 kg of Yaba based on specific intelligence.

All seized items and the vehicle have been handed over to DRI Agartala for legal action.
