Agartala, Mar 21: The Border Security Force (BSF) Tripura Frontier seized yaba tablets, clothes, and firecrackers in two separate anti-smuggling operations along the India-Bangladesh border.
On March 20, BSF personnel at Border Outpost (BOP) Dipak in Sonamura intercepted a drug smuggling attempt, recovering 1,920 yaba tablets worth Rs 19.20 lakh. The operation was part of efforts to combat cross-border narcotics trafficking.
A day earlier, on March 19, BSF Tripura, in a joint operation with Tripura Police, seized clothes and firecrackers valued at Rs 12.78 lakh in Laltila village under Baijalbari police station. The seizure was made following specific intelligence inputs.
Authorities have intensified border surveillance to curb smuggling activities.
