Agartala, February 13, 2026: The Tripura government on Friday approved the creation and filling up of 555 posts across various departments and gave the green signal for setting up new Ayurvedic and Homeopathy medical colleges and hospitals in the state.

Tourism Minister and Cabinet spokesperson Sushanta Chowdhury said the decisions were taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manik Saha.

As part of the recruitment drive, the cabinet approved the appointment of 110 Veterinary Officers (Group-B) under the Animal Resource Development Department through the Tripura Public Service Commission. The Health and Family Welfare Department was also allowed to create and fill 100 Multi-Purpose Worker posts, evenly divided between men and women, through a competitive examination.

In a major push to alternative medicine education, the cabinet sanctioned a 60-seat Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital at Tepania, to be operational from the 2026–27 academic session. A temporary campus will function from Chandrapur. Another 60-seat Homeopathy Medical College and Hospital will be established at the Netaji Subhas State Home Hospital in Agartala.

The cabinet also approved filling eight Multi-Tasking Staff posts in the Directorate of Prosecution, enhanced house rent allowance for Tripura State Rifles personnel posted in New Delhi, cleared seven LDC posts in the Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency, and increased the boarding house stipend under the Tribal Welfare Department. Additionally, 330 new posts were sanctioned under the Tripura Information Technology Service.

Officials said the decisions would strengthen service delivery, expand healthcare education infrastructure, and generate significant employment opportunities across the state.
