Agartala, April 03, 2026: Manik Saha on Friday accused Tipra Motha Party of attempting to create instability in the state and warned that no one involved in disturbing peace would be spared.
Addressing an election rally organised by Bharatiya Janata Party at Gabardi Market in support of party candidate Maji Debbarma for the 17-Pekuajala Janmejaynagar constituency of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council, the chief minister said legal force would be used wherever necessary to maintain peace and order.
“The primary objective of Tipra Motha is to foment instability. No one involved in creating unrest will be spared. For the sake of peace, force will be exercised through legal means wherever necessary,” Saha said.

The chief minister alleged that Tipra Motha was trying to mislead the people for political gains, but claimed that the public had already understood its “real intentions”.
Describing the ongoing village committee elections under the ADC as crucial for determining the future direction of the tribal autonomous body, Saha urged voters to exercise their franchise without fear.
He asserted that the BJP remained the only dependable political force within the ADC capable of protecting the rights and future of the people, and alleged that residents had become disillusioned with what he termed the false promises of the ruling Tipra Motha in the council.

According to Saha, indigenous people from different parts of the state were increasingly joining the BJP, and similar support was visible in the Pekuajala-Janmejaynagar constituency.
“Public support can never be secured through brute force. Tipra Motha, now detached from the masses, cannot stop BJP’s victory by burning houses of ordinary Tiprasa people or forcing shops to shut down,” he alleged.
The chief minister further accused Tipra Motha of misusing development funds over the past five years under the banner of the ‘Thansa’ slogan and called upon voters to remove the party from power in the ADC and establish a development-oriented administration led by the BJP.
