Agartala, May 28, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday evening held a crucial meeting with officials from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to discuss the revival of the defunct Kailashahar Airport in Unakoti District.
The meeting follows Dr. Saha’s recent visit to New Delhi, where he met Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya Scindia and urged the swift operationalization of the Kailashahar Airport. The Chief Minister had also submitted a formal letter regarding the matter to both the Ministry of DoNER and Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan.
Subsequently, an AAI delegation conducted a site survey at the Kailashahar Airport. The findings of that survey were presented during today’s meeting, where AAI officials provided a detailed report to the Chief Minister.
Among the key attendees were M. Raja Kishore, Regional Executive Director (North Eastern Region), and K. C. Meena, Airport Director of Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala.
