Agartala, August 08, 2025: Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha has given the green light to a slew of major development projects worth over ₹87 crore, aimed at strengthening Tripura’s civic infrastructure, road connectivity, and public health services.
In a significant push for urban development, the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has received approval for projects totaling ₹32.33 crore. These include the construction and upgradation of RCC-covered drains and vital road infrastructure across several wards of the capital city.
Simultaneously, the state government has sanctioned extensive rural road maintenance work under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). With an allocation of ₹55.16 crore, 27 roads spanning 129.5 kilometers will undergo maintenance in 12 sub-divisions. The initiative will be implemented by the State Public Works Department (PWD).
The sub-divisions covered under the rural development push are Sonamura, Bishalgarh, Teliamura, Mohanpur, Udaipur, Amarpur, Sabroom, Belonia, Ambassa, Kamalpur, Kanchanpur, and Kailashahar.
Officials said these developments reflect the government’s commitment to bridging the urban-rural infrastructure divide and ensuring balanced, inclusive growth throughout Tripura.
“The approved projects are aimed at enhancing the quality of life for our citizens by improving connectivity, sanitation, and access to essential services,” said a senior official from the Chief Minister’s Office.
