Agartala, January 8, 2026: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Thursday strongly condemned the recent attack on BJP workers in Hezamara under West district, asserting that those responsible will not be spared. He vowed that strict legal action will be taken against the culprits.

The incident took place on Wednesday in Simna’s Hejamara area during the construction of a BJP office. Two party workers sustained serious head injuries after being allegedly attacked by members of the Tipra Motha. Both injured workers were rushed to GBP Hospital, where they remain under treatment. The attack triggered tension in the locality, prompting police deployment to maintain order.

Speaking to reporters today, the Chief Minister revealed that he had spoken with Tipra Motha’s former supremo and MDC Pradyot Kishore Debbarma earlier in the morning, who had extended birthday greetings to him. However, Saha clarified that the issue of the attack was not discussed in that conversation.

Reaffirming his government’s commitment to maintaining law and order, Saha said political differences cannot justify violence or terror. He directed police and administrative officials to conduct a swift investigation, identify the perpetrators, and ensure their arrest. He further emphasized that the administration will take proactive measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
