Tripura CM Dr Manik Saha Directs Interim Relief for 55 Affected Families in Santirbazar Violence

Agartala, October 25, 2025: As directed by Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, interim relief has been sanctioned for 55 individuals affected by the recent mob violence in Santirbazar under Kamalpur Sub-Division of Dhalai district.

According to an official order issued by the District Magistrate and Collector, Dhalai, a total of ₹6.6 lakh has been sanctioned as interim relief/ex-gratia assistance for those affected in the incident that took place on October 23, 2025.

The order specifies that compensation will be paid at ₹25,000 each for five cases of major loss, ₹15,000 each for seven cases of moderate loss, and ₹10,000 each for 43 cases of minor loss. The payment will be made from the DM’s office as per the approved financial memorandum.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said, “As directed by the government, interim relief has been provided to 55 affected individuals in connection with the Santirbazar incident under Kamalpur sub-division. However, additional relief or ex-gratia assistance will be extended as per government norms after the completion of a detailed assessment of the damage.”

The Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Kamalpur has also been instructed to verify if any affected individual has been left out from the compensation list, ensuring that genuine victims may claim relief by producing necessary evidence.
