Tripura CM Dr Manik Saha Inaugurates 18 Projects Across Sepahijala District

Agartala, December 9, 2025: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for as many as 18 development projects across Sepahijala district, combining initiatives in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and public administration.

The Chief Minister formally inaugurated the new building of the Sonamura Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office and, from the same venue, virtually launched and laid foundations for multiple projects across different departments. The event was attended by Ministers Kishor Barman and Shukla Charan Noatia, MLAs Bindu Debnath and Tafajjal Hossain, Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Supriya Das Datta, the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, and other dignitaries.

In his speech, Dr. Saha highlighted the government’s commitment to holistic development in education, healthcare, and general administration. He urged that opposition representatives be invited to future development programs so they can witness progress firsthand.

The Chief Minister praised the district administration and police for their efforts in curbing drug abuse, child marriage, and criminal activities. He also appealed to citizens to play an active role in shaping a brighter future for the next generation.

Ministers Kishore Barman and Shuklacharan Noatia also addressed the gathering, underscoring the importance of the projects for local communities.

The Chief Minister, along with other guests, cut the ribbon and unveiled the plaque of the new Sonamura SDM office building. He inspected the facility, which will house multiple departmental offices under one roof, benefiting over three lakh residents of the subdivision. The event drew significant public participation.

The projects inaugurated or launched virtually include the new building of the Community Health Centre at Kathalia in Sepahijala, the new building of Kamangar PHC along with staff quarters, and a new OPD complex at Melaghar Sub-Divisional Hospital. A 50-seat Minority Girls’ Hostel was inaugurated at Boxanagar, while the foundation stone was laid for an RCC footbridge over the Gomati River at Kamrangatali.

Other projects comprise the new building of UNC Nagar SB School at Boxanagar, the new building of Melaghar English Medium School, and the new building of Nabadwip Chandra Institution Higher Secondary School. The vertical extension of Karnainagar PHC was also launched, alongside Block Public Health Units at Boxanagar PHC and Dhanpur PHC.

Additional classrooms were inaugurated at Padmalochan Choupra HS School, a new Panchayat building was opened at Nayanjala GP under Boxanagar Block, and new office buildings were inaugurated at Khedabari and Kamrangatali in Sonamura subdivision. The new building of Ayushman Arogya Mandir at Purba Nalchar in Sepahijala and the new building of Shree Sekerkote HS School in West Tripura were also part of the projects.
