Agartala, September 17, 2025:Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Wednesday inaugurated the State Level Swachhata Hi Seva programme at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday with a call for collective responsibility towards cleanliness.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Saha said that a series of programmes have been lined up from September 17 to October 2 as part of the Swachh Utsav. He recalled that on October 2, 2014, Prime Minister Modi launched the Swachhata Abhiyan, which has since evolved into a nationwide people’s movement.
The Chief Minister praised the efforts of the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) in ensuring proper waste management, installation of dustbins, and maintaining urban cleanliness. He urged citizens to not only keep their surroundings clean but also purify their inner selves, contributing to the vision of a clean society and state.
The programme was attended by Panchayat Minister Kishor Barman, Agartala Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, PWD Secretary Brijesh Pandey, Urban Development Secretary Abhishek Singh, Padma Shri awardee Dipa Karmakar, and several other dignitaries.
