Agartala, September 8, 2025: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday said that the Tripura government is laying special focus on infrastructure development and social welfare, with projects worth nearly ₹61 crore inaugurated or launched in the state.
Addressing a programme at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, where he virtually inaugurated 14 projects and laid foundation stones for five more, Dr. Saha announced the establishment of two new One Stop Centres at Kailashahar and Agartala, along with monthly social pensions of ₹2,000 each for 14,575 Divyangjans.
The projects include five 100-bedded Working Women’s Hostels and a 50-bedded Boys’ Hostel under DIET. “These hostels, costing ₹11.40 crore each, will be equipped with gyms, recreation centers, sports courts, round-the-clock security, and childcare facilities,” he said.
As part of Poshan Abhiyan, 11,130 smartphones with Poshan Tracker App were distributed to Anganwadi workers at a cost of ₹12.89 crore. Nine new Anganwadi Centres in Jirania and Mohanpur were also inaugurated.
Dr. Saha highlighted that Tripura ranks fifth nationally and first in the Northeast in preparing a roadmap aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047. He added that over ₹800 crore worth of projects have already been inaugurated or launched in 2025 (up to August).
The CM also outlined welfare initiatives, including rehabilitation grants for 101 children, financial support from the Juvenile Justice Fund to 144 children, sponsorship for 4,286 children in FY 2024–25, and shelter for 940 children across 44 institutes. Since April 2023, 1,402 Anganwadi workers and 1,615 helpers have been recruited.
Social Welfare Minister Tinku Roy, Secretary Tapas Roy, Director T.K. Das, and senior officials were present at the event.
