Agartala, October 15, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital and discussed a wide range of developmental and welfare issues concerning the state.
Dr. Saha, in a social media post, expressed his delight over meeting the Prime Minister, writing, “Under his visionary leadership, and to fulfill the goal of Viksit Tripura, Viksit Bharat, our government in Tripura has been taking several transformative initiatives. I apprised him of the ongoing developments and sought his kind support on key matters.”
During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted several crucial demands, including the inclusion of the Bru-Reang community under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and an increase in wheat allocation under the Public Distribution System (PDS).
He also urged the Prime Minister to consider important infrastructure and policy proposals such as the double-laning of the railway track in Tripura, introduction of a Vande Bharat Express between Agartala and Guwahati, enhancement of the ceiling limit for Externally Aided Projects (EAPs), and approval for 15 additional Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS).
In addition, Dr. Saha proposed the establishment of an Agar Board and research centre to boost Tripura’s aromatic industry and recommended that Unakoti—the state’s heritage site of immense archaeological and cultural significance—be declared a Sustainable Development Heritage Site.
The Chief Minister’s meeting with the Prime Minister reflects Tripura’s commitment to aligning its development agenda with the national vision of inclusive growth and infrastructure advancement.
