Agartala, September 08, 2025: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday visited the historic Mata Tripura Sundari Temple, also known as Mata Bari, to oversee the preparations for a possible visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is expected to inaugurate the renovated temple in the coming days.
Accompanied by senior ministers, MLAs, and top officials, the Chief Minister inspected the final phase of beautification and infrastructural works being carried out under the Centre’s PRASAD scheme. The 500-year-old shrine, one of the 151 revered Shakti Peethas, has been undergoing extensive development aimed at enhancing facilities and spiritual ambience for devotees.
After offering prayers, Dr. Saha told reporters, “I have come here to review the preparedness. The exact date and time of the Prime Minister’s visit are yet to be confirmed, but the administration is fully geared up. Today, all arrangements were inspected with ministers, legislators, and senior officers to ensure the work is completed at the earliest.”
The Chief Minister was joined by Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Bagma MLA Rampada Jamatia, Matabari MLA Abhishek Debroy, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, DGP Anurag, the District Magistrate of Gomati, the Superintendent of Police, and other senior officials.
The much-awaited project, once inaugurated, is expected to boost tourism and religious significance of the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple, drawing devotees from across the country.
