Agartala, February 18, 2026: A devastating fire on February 16 severely damaged the residence of Rajesh Dey at Tantipara in AD nagar, under the Bardowali Assembly constituency. The blaze destroyed household furniture and essential belongings, leaving the family in distress.

Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha visited the site today to assess the situation and express solidarity with the affected family. During his visit, he conveyed condolences and handed over an initial financial assistance of ₹1.20 lakh on behalf of the state government.

The Chief Minister said the support would provide some relief to the family and assured that further assistance would be considered if required in the future.
