Agartala, June 27, 2025: Launching a scathing attack on the Congress, West Tripura MP and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today said the party has been rejected by the people of Tripura, particularly the tribal communities.
“Congress is a shunned people. They have never loved or respected the people of Tripura and the tribals. They only want to remain relevant by criticizing others, but they have no existence among the tribals,” Deb said while addressing an organizational meeting at Hrishyamukh Community Hall organized by BJP Hrishyamukh Mandal under South Tripura district.
The meeting saw the presence of both Lok Sabha MPs Biplab Kumar Deb and Kriti Singh Debbarman drawing significant enthusiasm among BJP workers, as it marked a rare joint appearance.
MP Deb further emphasized the ongoing efforts of the BJP to strengthen its grassroots presence. “BJP is in power both at the Centre and in the state. Our aim is to connect with the people and make them aware of the government’s various development initiatives,” he added.
The event was also attended by Hrishyamukh Mandal President Nakul Pal, Belonia Mandal President Sayantan Datta, BJP South District President Dipayan Chowdhury, South Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadipati Dipak Datta and other senior party leaders.
In a heartwarming gesture, the MP Deb fulfilled a special request from Rahul Debnath, a differently-abled student from Sarasima who recently passed his higher secondary examination with 66% marks in science. On Rahul’s appeal for support in higher education, Deb personally handed him a laptop. “His dedication and perseverance are inspiring. The BJP stands with such determined youth,” Deb said.
Rahul, who is about 80% disabled is supported by his mother who works as a domestic help to sustain the family.
