Agartala, October 06, 2025: Tripura Police have arrested a man in connection with the suspicious death of his wife, following a formal complaint filed by the victim’s family. The arrest was made under the joint leadership of Officer-in-Charge Raju Dutta of Santirbazar Police Station and Officer-in-Charge Jayanta Das of the Manpathar Outpost.
According to police sources, the deceased Kasuti Riang (40), wife of Constable Rajesh Riang of Shantir Bazar Police Station, was found dead at her residence in Bogafa on Sunday. Preliminary reports suggest she died by suicide. Her body was transported to South Tripura District Hospital at Santirbazar, where a post-mortem examination was conducted on Monday before being handed over to the family.
Following the autopsy, the victim’s family lodged a written complaint at Santirbazar Police Station, alleging foul play and holding her husband responsible for her death. Acting swiftly on the complaint, police detained Rajesh Reang for questioning.
Speaking to the media, Officer Raju Dutta confirmed that a case has been registered under Case No. 23/2025, citing sections 85/61(2), 103(1), and 238 of the BNS Act. The investigation has been formally assigned to Officer Jayanta Das of the Manpathar Outpost.
“We are committed to ensuring that no perpetrator escapes justice. The investigation is progressing rapidly under our joint supervision,” officer said.
