Agartala, April 03, 2026: Tripura DGP Anurag on Thursday reviewed the law and order situation in Gomati district and Dhalai district, a day after holding a similar review meeting in Khowai district, as part of preparations for the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council election, 2026.
The DGP chaired the review meeting at the Superintendent of Police office in Gomati district and assessed security preparedness in view of the elections.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Anurag said the objective of the district-level review meetings was to assess the overall law and order situation and take necessary measures to ensure peaceful polling.
“As you all know that the TTAADC elections are scheduled to be conducted on April 12 next. In view of the elections, we have prepared a security roadmap according to which deployment and the entire law and order machinery has been functioning,” he said.
He said he was touring different districts to understand the ground situation and evaluate security arrangements.
“Based on the assessment, further actions shall be undertaken to ensure peaceful polls,” the DGP added.
Police have already drawn up deployment plans and intensified monitoring in sensitive areas ahead of the elections, officials said.
