Tripura: Drug Trafficker Nabbed with ₹3.1 Crore Worth of Yaba Tablets Hidden in Luxury Vehicle’s Fuel Tank

Agartala, September 15, 2025: Customs officials in Tripura arrested a youth allegedly involved in drug trafficking, seizing a massive consignment of Yaba tablets concealed inside a luxury passenger vehicle. The arrest took place in the Chakmaghat area under Teliamura police station in Khowai district.

The accused has been identified as Md. Mohibullah, a resident of Boxanagar was caught red-handed while attempting to smuggle approximately 3 kilograms of Yaba tablets using a Bolero SUV bearing temporary registration number T0625TR2378C. Authorities revealed that the vehicle had been modified with a secret chamber inside its fuel tank to hide the narcotics.

Acting on a tip-off, Customs officials in coordination with Teliamura CPF intercepted the vehicle along the Assam-Agartala National Highway. The contraband was reportedly being transported from Dharmanagar towards the Boxanagar border area.

Officials leading the operation stated that the seized Yaba tablets have an estimated market value of ₹3.1 crore. The driver, Md. Mohibullah, was taken into custody and is expected to face charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
