Tripura First in India to Complete All 23 Priority Areas Under National Deregulation Drive

Agartala, November 27, 2025: Tripura has emerged as the first state in the country to fully implement all 23 Priority Areas outlined in Phase I of the National Compliance Reduction and Deregulation initiative, marking a major administrative milestone.

In an official communication to Tripura Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha, Cabinet Secretary Dr. T.V. Somanathan praised the state government for its swift and effective execution of the reform-focused exercise. He lauded the administration’s leadership and commitment in meeting the time-bound targets set under the national initiative.

The Cabinet Secretary commended the Chief Secretary’s direct involvement in steering the process, noting that Tripura’s achievement sets a benchmark for other States and Union Territories. He also expressed confidence that the state would continue its proactive approach as Phase II of the nationwide reform effort is set to commence soon.

A copy of Dr. Somanathan’s congratulatory letter has been forwarded to the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister for reference.
