Tripura Gets ₹153 Cr Allocation for 2025 Under 15th Finance Commission

Agartala, December 10, 2025: The Central Government has released funds to states for the financial years 2024–25 and 2025–26 under the Fifteenth Finance Commission (15th FC) grants for Rural Local Bodies (RLBs), the Ministry of Finance announced on Tuesday.

According to the Ministry, the disbursement was made after beneficiary states submitted Grant Transfer Certificates and fulfilled all mandatory eligibility conditions prescribed in the operational guidelines issued on 14 July 2021.

Data tabled in the Lok Sabha shows that Tripura received a total of ₹335.67 crore under the Fourteenth Finance Commission grants for Gram Panchayats during 2015–16 to 2019–20. The state received the full allocated amounts in the first three years, while the releases in 2018–19 and 2019–20 were marginally lower than allocations.

Under the Fifteenth Finance Commission, Tripura has continued to record consistent inflows. As of 2 December 2025, the state received ₹191 crore in 2020–21, ₹141 crore in 2021–22, ₹147 crore in 2022–23, ₹148 crore in 2023–24, and ₹156.31 crore against an allocation of ₹157 crore for 2024–25. For 2025, an allocation of ₹153 crore has been approved.

Overall, 28 states have been allocated ₹48,573 crore under the 15th FC grants for RLBs.

The Union Government also clarified that it does not maintain data on the number of families or individuals directly benefiting from projects funded under these grants. The information was presented in the Lok Sabha on 9 December 2025 by Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh.
