Agartala, August 11, 2025: The Tripura government has approved the conferment of the prestigious Chief Minister’s Medal to 14 police officers and personnel for their exemplary service in diverse fields, coinciding with the Independence Day celebrations.
In an official order, Deputy Secretary Sumita Chakraborty informed Director General of Police Anurag of the government’s nod to honour officers for outstanding contributions in areas including law and order management, anti-insurgency operations, cybercrime investigations, anti-narcotics drives, community policing, training innovations, armed battalion duties, sports, and high-profile criminal investigations.
Among the recipients, Krishnendu Chakravertty, IPS, DIGP (Crime and Intelligence), will be recognised for exceptional field intelligence collection, while Kanta Jangir, IPS, SP (Unakoti), now SP (Traffic), is honoured for managing law and order in challenging conditions. Jeremia Darlong, Additional SP, will be awarded for anti-insurgency efforts, and Nirdesh Deb, Additional SP (Cyber Crime), for solving complex cybercrime cases.
Other honourees include Sougat Chakma for anti-narcotics operations; Jayanta Karmakar and Raju Reang for maintaining law and order and promoting community policing; Jay Prakash Yadav and Sankar Rudra Pal for police training innovations; and Debajit Bhattacharjee for intelligence collection.
The list further names Rakesh Debbarma for armed battalion operations, Mouchaity Debnath for national-level sports achievements, and inspectors Suman Ulla Kazi and Madhabi Debbarma for solving sensational and heinous crimes.
