Tripura Government Prioritizing Education and Digital Learning: CM Dr Manik Saha

Agartala, June 17, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday reaffirmed the Tripura government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector, with a sharp focus on infrastructure development and promoting digital learning.

Speaking at a felicitation programme for meritorious students who excelled in this year’s Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examinations, organized by 8-Town Bardowali Mandal at Agartala Town Hall, the Chief Minister Dr Saha highlighted the government’s efforts to bring reforms in the education system under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Digital learning is a priority area, and several initiatives have been launched to integrate it into the mainstream education system,” said Dr. Saha, adding that success in life is not solely determined by exam scores but also by patience and diligence.

Emphasizing the need to involve talented youth in politics, the Chief Minister echoed Prime Minister Modi’s call to bring capable individuals from non-political backgrounds into public life for a healthier democratic ecosystem.

Dr. Saha also outlined several recent achievements of the Education department. These include the upgradation of multiple schools to English medium, the introduction of the Super 30 project that secured 1 IIT, 3 NIT, and 3 MBBS admissions in 2024–25, and the launch of the Chief Minister’s Merit Award.

He informed that Rs. 153 crore has been utilized for constructing new buildings in 44 schools, while another Rs. 264 crore has been allocated to develop infrastructure in 30 more schools.

Celebrating academic accomplishments, the Chief Minister noted that 345 schools achieved a 100% pass rate in secondary education with an overall pass percentage of 86.53%, while 39 schools achieved the same in higher secondary exams, with a pass rate of 79.29%.

The event was attended by BJP Sadar (Urban) District President Asim Bhattacharjee, Bardowali Mandal President Shyamal Kumar Deb, AMC Corporators Abhijit Mallick, Alok Roy, Ratna Datta, Janhvi Das Chowdhury and other local dignitaries.
