Agartala, August 22, 2025: Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu arrived in Belonia on Thursday for a two-day visit to South Tripura district, focusing on the concerns of border residents, farmers, and self-help groups (SHGs) while reviewing the implementation of Central welfare schemes.
The Governor’s tour began at Rajnagar under South Matai Gram Panchayat in Rishyamukh block, where he addressed a public gathering at Rajnagar Colony H.S. School. He held discussions with villagers, farmers, and women from SHGs, assuring them that their grievances would be conveyed to the state government for necessary action.
During the visit, he inspected a betel leaf plantation and interacted with cultivators about their challenges. He also visited border-adjacent areas to assess complaints regarding inadequate drainage facilities.
Emphasizing the need to ensure that the benefits of the Prime Minister’s welfare initiatives reach the underprivileged, the Governor sought direct feedback from residents on the schemes’ effectiveness.
The Governor’s South Tripura tour will continue on Friday with more programmes scheduled across border villages.
