Agartala, May 20, 2026: In a proud achievement for the state, Tripura Gramin Bank has secured the second-best performer position among 28 Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) under the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) during the prestigious APY Annual Felicitation Programme 2026 held at ITC Maurya in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The award was presented at a grand ceremony organised by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority in the presence of senior officials from the Government of India and leading members of the banking fraternity.

The honour was received by Shri Satyendra Singh, Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank, in the presence of Shri M. Nagaraju, Secretary, Department of Financial Services under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, and Shri Sanjay Lohia, Special Secretary, Department of Financial Services, along with several distinguished dignitaries from the financial sector.

Tripura Gramin Bank has consistently recorded impressive achievements under the Atal Pension Yojana over the past few financial years. The bank achieved 203 per cent of its target during FY 2022-23, 197 per cent in FY 2023-24, 351 per cent in FY 2024-25, and 185 per cent in FY 2025-26.

During FY 2025-26, the bank registered 27,787 active enrolments against the annual target of 15,000, further strengthening pension coverage and financial security among rural citizens across the state.

The recognition highlights the bank’s sustained commitment towards financial inclusion, social security, and rural banking outreach. Officials of the bank credited the achievement to the collective efforts and dedication of all branches, employees, and stakeholders associated with the institution.

The achievement has been widely hailed as a significant milestone for Tripura’s rural banking sector and a matter of pride for the entire state.
