Agartala, March 06, 2026: A shocking incident has rocked the Harishnagar Munda Para area, where a man allegedly beat his wife to death in front of their two children. The accused has been identified as Lakshmindhar Munda, while the deceased is Moni Munda (Rote).

According to local sources, the violence began on Thursday evening when Lakshmindhar started assaulting his wife. Neighbors reportedly tried to intervene multiple times, but the situation did not improve. Witnesses claim that the assault continued late into the night.

Family members and neighbors allege that Moni was brutally attacked with a wooden stick during the night, in full view of her children. The relentless beating left her critically injured. On Friday morning, neighbors found Lakshmindhar sitting beside his wife’s lifeless body, sparking widespread outrage in the locality.

Bishalgarh police station staff rushed to the scene after receiving information. The accused husband was arrested and taken into custody, while the body was sent for post-mortem examination.

Residents allege that Lakshmindhar frequently assaulted his wife, and police suspect ongoing domestic disputes may have led to this tragic incident. Bishalgarh police have launched a full investigation into the matter.
