Agartala, May 17, 2025: In a continuing effort to strengthen its bond with the ex-servicemen community, the Indian Army organized a comprehensive outreach programme at Agartala Military Station. The event saw enthusiastic participation from nearly 300 veterans, including Veer Naris and war widows, hailing from Gomati, North, South and West Tripura along with Unakoti, Dhalai and Khowai districts.

The primary objective of the programme was to address and expedite resolutions related to pensions, documentation issues and administrative discrepancies. In addition, the event served as a platform to disseminate the latest updates on welfare schemes and policies introduced by the higher headquarters and the Government of India.

To facilitate immediate redressal of grievances, multiple support cells were set up by the Army, including a job enrollment cell. A special ECHS medical assistance unit, staffed by trained healthcare professionals, was also operational, offering medical consultations, essential check-ups, and medicines to veterans from remote regions.

The Station Commander personally interacted with the veterans, Veer Naris, and war widows, expressing deep gratitude for their invaluable service. “The nation remains forever indebted to the courage, commitment, and sacrifice of our ex-servicemen. Their contribution continues to inspire future generations,” he remarked.

The event stands as a testament to the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of its veterans and their families, reaffirming the spirit of camaraderie and respect that lies at the heart of the Armed Forces.
