Agartala, June 10, 2026: Within 24 hours of a high-level review meeting chaired by the Chief Minister focusing on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) and educational monitoring, the Directorate of Elementary Education on Tuesday launched the state’s first-ever Online School Monitoring System aimed at ensuring real-time monitoring and improving the quality of foundational education.
The system was formally inaugurated by School Education Secretary Dr. Milind Dharamrao Ramteke, IAS, during a workshop organized by the NIPUN Tripura Cell and Pre-Primary Cell under the Directorate of Elementary Education. The initiative, conceptualized by Dr. Ramteke, is expected to bring transparency, accountability, and prompt corrective interventions through state-level monitoring of schools.
Addressing the inaugural session, Dr. Ramteke emphasized that Block Resource Persons (BRPs) and Cluster Resource Persons (CRPs) will play a pivotal role in ensuring quality education for students from Classes I to V. They will be required to visit assigned schools at least once every fifteen days and submit inspection reports through the online platform. The reports will be monitored at both district and state levels, enabling the department to access real-time data for the first time.

The Secretary also stated that Inspectors of Schools will oversee the inspection process and assess the academic standards of students from Classes VI to X through regular and surprise visits. Teachers will conduct student assessments through the digital platform, and accountability measures will be introduced to ensure class-appropriate learning outcomes. Teachers demonstrating significant student improvement will be recognized and incentivized.
Director of SCERT Smt. L. Darlong, Director of Elementary Education Harshita Biswas, and State Nodal Officer of NIPUN Mission and Branch Officer of the Pre-Primary Cell, Abhijit Samajpati, were present at the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Harshita Biswas said the Education Department remains committed to ensuring quality education and stressed the need for Inspectors, BRPs, CRPs, and teachers to work collectively for students’ learning development. She added that responsibility would be fixed on all stakeholders to ensure effective implementation.
Inspectors of Schools from both the state and TTAADC areas, along with BRPs and CRPs from all eight districts, received hands-on training on the Online School Monitoring System in two phases. The training was conducted by officials from the Vidya Samiksha Kendra, who oversee the operation and management of the platform.
The Education Department has indicated that more innovative and timely initiatives will be introduced in the coming months, with a special focus on strengthening foundational education across Tripura.
