Agartala, April 23, 2026: In a significant push towards strengthening rural entrepreneurship, the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) has launched a dedicated incubator programme aimed at supporting 150 women-led rural enterprises across the state. The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, a leading incubation and innovation platform.

The programme is designed to provide structured mentorship, capacity building, and market linkages to rural women entrepreneurs, enabling them to scale their ventures sustainably. Officials said the initiative aligns with broader efforts to enhance income-generating opportunities and promote self-reliance among women in rural areas.

As part of efforts to strengthen implementation, TRLM representatives Sandip Sinha, State Mission Manager, and Tuhin Mitra, Project Manager (Non-Farm Vertical), participated in a three-day national workshop titled “Rural Incubator: Advancing the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem for Lakhpati Didi.” The workshop was held in Guwahati and organized by the Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission.

The workshop focused on building a robust support system for rural enterprises under the “Lakhpati Didi” initiative, which aims to enable women to achieve sustainable annual incomes. TRLM officials gained valuable insights into incubation strategies, enterprise development models, and best practices from across the country.

The launch of the incubator programme is expected to create new avenues of growth for women entrepreneurs in Tripura, fostering innovation while contributing to the state’s rural economy.
