Agartala, August 07, 2025: A fresh wave of development is sweeping through the hill villages of Tripura, as the state government’s “Government at the Doorstep of the People” initiative reaches the remotest corners of the state. Tribal Welfare Minister and Krishnapur MLA Bikash Debbarma recently visited the 43-mile area under Mungiakami RD Block at the foot of the Atharamura hills, listening directly to the grievances and hopes of tribal villagers long deprived of basic amenities.

“Till now, tribal people were remembered only during elections. They were deprived of their basic rights—education, health, housing, clean drinking water, ration. But now that picture is changing. This government is committed to meaningful development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha,” Minister Debbarma said during a public meeting.

During his visit, the minister interacted with locals who raised issues like wrongful APL ration card allocations and delays in receiving widow or disabled allowances. Responding with urgency, Debbarma personally collected application forms and held an impromptu meeting with Mungiakami BDO Diptanu Debbarma. He instructed officials to verify complaints quickly and ensure “no one goes from door to door of government offices in despair.”

Highlighting central and state schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat, Subal Bandhu and infrastructure projects under TTAADC, Debbarma asserted that these efforts are already transforming lives. “This is not about caste or party. Those who truly deserve the benefits will receive them,” he said.

“We are the government that stands beside you even before your tears fall. Now, it is not the people reaching the government—it is the government that’s reaching the people,” the minister added.

At the meeting, BJP Mandal Vice-President Gopal Das and other local leaders were also present.
