Agartala, October 18, 2025: A parallel session on the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the North East region was held today at the North East Education Conclave 2025, hosted by Pragjyotishpur University in Guwahati.

Tripura’s Higher Education Minister Kishor Barman chaired the session, which brought together key stakeholders including the Vice Chancellor of Pragjyotishpur University, the Director of the National Institute, the Secretary of the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and senior university officials.

Assam’s Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu also participated in the discussion, offering significant recommendations aimed at strengthening regional implementation of NEP 2020. The session focused on collaborative strategies to enhance educational outcomes across the North East, with emphasis on policy alignment, institutional capacity, and inclusive access.
