Agartala, August 08, 2025: Tripura’s Power, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath chaired the general body meeting of the Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad at the District Magistrate’s office here in Agartala city on Friday bringing together senior officials and elected representatives to assess ongoing development works and chart strategies for faster execution.
Minister Nath was accompanied by MLAs Mina Rani Sarkar and Swapna Debbarma, West Tripura district’s DM Dr. Vishal Kumar, Zilla Parishad members, Panchayat Samiti Chairpersons, Block Officers from all blocks and officials from various line departments.
Minister Nath noted that such review meetings are convened every three months to monitor departmental progress, identify roadblocks, and ensure timely completion of projects.
Stressing the need for strong coordination, he said, “Representatives of the three-tier panchayats and government officials must work hand in hand for the welfare of the people. Only when public representatives remain closely connected with citizens can the state move forward rapidly.”
Highlighting the role of both elected representatives and government employees as “the backbone of the state’s development machinery,” Nath underlined their joint responsibility in advancing sectors such as drinking water, education, housing, roads, electricity, agriculture, irrigation, social welfare, and industry.
He urged panchayat representatives to maintain continuous communication with relevant departments to address public grievances promptly and ensure inclusive solutions. The meeting concluded with discussions on expediting pending works and removing administrative bottlenecks.
