Agartala, September 17, 2025: In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a tuberculosis-free India, Minister for Scheduled Caste Welfare, Sudhangshu Das, has taken on the role of Ni-Kshay Mitra, a supporter of TB patients on the occasion of the Prime Minister’s 75th birthday.

Marking the nationwide Sewa Pakhwada initiative on Wednesday, Das and his family distributed nutrition-rich food baskets to TB patients in his Fatikroy Assembly Constituency. The kits, containing protein-based items vital for recovery, were handed over to ensure patients receive sustained nutritional support.

Beyond this, the minister pledged to take personal responsibility for the wellbeing of these patients over the next six months, promising consistent assistance and encouragement throughout their treatment journey.

Das said his participation symbolises his commitment to Prime Minister Modi’s mission. He added that “TB Harega, Desh Jeetega” is not just a slogan but a national movement that demands collective effort.

The initiative forms part of the Pradhan Mantri TB-Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, which aims to eradicate tuberculosis from the country by 2025. Tripura has also been actively contributing to this campaign, with TB-Free drives expanding steadily across the state.
