Agartala, June 17, 2025: A comprehensive review meeting on the implementation of various schemes under the Fisheries, Animal Resource Development, and Scheduled Caste Welfare departments was convened at the District Magistrate’s office in Khowai, with Minister Sudhangshu Das chairing the session on Tuesday.

The meeting brought together senior administrative and elected officials, including Khowai District Magistrate Rajat Pant, Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Aparna Singh Roy, SDM Charu Verma, Municipal Council Chairperson Debashish Nath Sharma, Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Tinku Bhattacharya, BSC Chairman, and other key officers.

During the review, Minister Das took note of the ongoing developmental efforts in the sectors of fish farming, animal husbandry, and welfare schemes targeted at Scheduled Castes. While appreciating the progress made so far, he pointed out areas requiring immediate attention to maximize the impact of these schemes.

“We’ve seen commendable work in animal husbandry and fishery initiatives, but there are gaps that need urgent addressing. The aim is to ensure that the benefits of all government schemes reach the grassroots level effectively,” the minister said.

He further stated, “This review is not just to assess progress, but to identify hurdles and refine strategies for inclusive growth. Sustainable development in fisheries and livestock will significantly enhance rural livelihoods in Khowai.”

Highlighting the government’s inclusive approach, Minister Das also reiterated the commitment to ensuring that Scheduled Caste communities receive all designated support through welfare programs.
