Tripura Minister Sushanta Chowdhury Attends National Tourism Ministers’ Conference at Udaipur, Rajasthan

Agartala, October 14, 2025: Tripura’s Tourism and Transport Minister, Sushanta Chowdhury, represented the state at the two-day National Conference of Tourism Ministers that began on Tuesday in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, the conference brought together key policymakers and tourism leaders from across the country to foster collaboration between the Centre and states. The discussions focused on promoting sustainable tourism, driving digital transformation, and enhancing the visibility of state-specific attractions to position India as a leading global travel destination.

The high-level gathering was attended by Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Diya Kumari, Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories, and tourism ministers from all Indian states.

During the event, Minister Chowdhury held detailed interactions with Union Minister Shekhawat, highlighting Tripura’s growing tourism infrastructure, rich cultural heritage, and eco-tourism potential. He also met Deputy CM Diya Kumari, with whom he discussed joint avenues for tourism development and extended a formal invitation to visit Tripura’s scenic destinations.

Chowdhury emphasized that Tripura’s diverse cultural identity, historical landmarks, and natural beauty offer immense opportunities for sustainable tourism. He reiterated the state’s commitment to align with the national vision of building a world-class tourism ecosystem through innovation and inter-state collaboration.

UK Chakma, Secretary of Tripura Tourism Department, and Prashant Badal Negi, Director of Tourism, accompanied the minister at the conference, which served as a platform to project Tripura’s growing prominence in India’s tourism landscape.
