Agartala, March 25, 2026: In view of emerging global challenges impacting fuel supply chains, a high-level review meeting was held in Agartala on Wednesday to assess the current situation of petrol, diesel, and cooking gas distribution across Tripura.
The meeting was organized by the Department of Food, Public Procurement and Consumer Affairs at Pragya Bhavan, with the participation of senior officials from various levels of the department and key stakeholders. Alongside the review, an awareness creation programme was also conducted to address concerns and ensure coordinated efforts.
Addressing the gathering, Transport and Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury emphasized the importance of maintaining uninterrupted supply and efficient distribution of essential fuels across the state. He stated that the meeting was convened to review the prevailing situation and deliberate on various related issues.
“In light of the problems arising in the Middle East, we seek the cooperation of all concerned to ensure normal supply and distribution of petrol, diesel and cooking gas cylinders among consumers in the state,” the Minister said.
He further informed that necessary instructions and suggestions have been provided to all stakeholders to prevent any disruption and to maintain stability in supply systems.
Officials reiterated that the government is closely monitoring the situation and taking proactive measures to safeguard consumer interests and ensure availability of essential commodities without inconvenience.
