Tripura: Minister’s Escort Vehicle Collides with Bike, Former Headmaster Killed in Bishalgarh

Agartala, January 28, 2026: Bishalgarh witnessed a tragic incident on Road Safety Day when a motorbike collided with the escort vehicle of Minister Sukla Charan Noatia, leaving the rider dead. The accident took place on Wednesday afternoon near the Lockdown Bazaar area under Bishalgarh police station.

It is reported that, a public awareness rally on road safety and child marriage prevention was underway at the time. The event was jointly organized by Bishalgarh, Madhupur, and Women’s Police Stations under the directive of the District Superintendent of Police. Students from various schools participated, alongside senior officials including the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police.

Locals stated that the motorbike had a head-on collision with the minister’s escort vehicle. The impact threw the rider onto the road, causing severe injuries. Police and administrative officials rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased was identified as Amar Chand Choudhury, a resident of East Laxmibil in Bishalgarh and a former headmaster. News of the accident quickly spread, triggering tension and panic in the area.
