Tripura: Minor Boy Detained for Attempted Abduction of Minor Girl from Agartala Railway Station

Agartala, August 07, 2025: Tension gripped Agartala Railway Station when a minor boy allegedly tried to abduct a minor girl by luring her with false promises and plans to take her to Bangalore. The incident came to light when vigilant members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal noticed suspicious activity and intervened promptly.

The VHP activists detained both the minor boy named Ansar Uddin, son of Swapan Mia and the girl at the station and handed them over to the Government Railway Police (GRP). According to sources, the boy had tried to entice the girl into eloping raising concerns of potential trafficking or exploitation.

Following the intervention, the VHP, along with the minor girl’s parents, filed a formal complaint at the East Agartala Women’s Police Station. Officials from the VHP and the victim’s mother later addressed the media personnel sharing detailed information about the sequence of events and cautioning parents to stay alert to such dangers.

The police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attempted abduction. Authorities assured that all necessary legal action would be taken to protect the minor girl and prevent such incidents in the future.
