Agartala, January 21, 2026: Kailashahar witnessed a tragic road accident on Wednesday morning when a speeding motorcycle lost control, leaving one teenager dead and another critically injured. The incident has cast a pall of grief and shock across the local community.

Locals informed that around 9 am, two friends named Abdul Kayum (15) and Samsuddin (15) were riding a motorcycle bearing registration number TR-02-J-8100 from Baburbazar towards Tilla Bazar when the vehicle suddenly went out of control and crashed. Both sustained severe injuries in the accident.

Kayum, son of Abdul Gaffar and a resident of Irani area (Ward No. 6), and Samsuddin, son of SPO jawan Asab Ali from East Yazekhaora, were immediately rescued by local residents who rushed to the scene after hearing a loud crash. The Fire Service was alerted, and firefighters, with the help of locals, transported the injured boys to Unakoti District Hospital.

Hospital authorities confirmed that Abdul Kayum was declared dead upon arrival. Samsuddin’s condition deteriorated, prompting doctors to refer him to GB Hospital in Agartala for advanced treatment, where he remains in critical condition.

Preliminary investigation suggests that reckless speeding led to the loss of control, resulting in the fatal crash. The tragic incident has plunged the entire area into mourning, highlighting once again the dangers of underage and unsafe riding practices.
