Agartala, July 28, 2025: Tripura’s former Chief Minister and current Member of Parliament Biplab Kumar Deb has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for responding positively to his request for a new special train service between Agartala and Haridwar.

In a letter dated July 24, 2025, Minister Vaishnaw informed that the Railway Ministry has initiated steps to examine the operational feasibility of introducing a weekly special train on the Agartala-Haridwar route. The proposal was based on a letter submitted by Biplab Kumar Deb on July 19, 2025, highlighting the public demand for enhanced rail connectivity between Tripura and North India.

“The concerned officials have been instructed to check the operational feasibility… Further action will be taken after feasibility,” stated the Union Minister in his official communication.

MP Deb thanked the Railway Minister for prioritizing the long-standing demand of the people of Tripura. He said, “I am sincerely grateful to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Ji for his prompt response and for taking the necessary steps to address the demand for a special train connecting Agartala and Haridwar. This will greatly benefit the people of the state, especially pilgrims and tourists.”
