Agartala, October 06, 2025: In a bid to maintain public order during Lakshmi Puja festivities, the NCC police station launched a series of intensive raids across its jurisdiction on evening, targeting alcohol-related disturbances and the illegal use of firecrackers. The operation, which continued into the early hours of Saturday, resulted in the arrest of 11 individuals.
Speaking to reporters here, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Prajit Malakar stated, “We had implemented strict surveillance measures well in advance to prevent any untoward incidents during Lakshmi Puja. Our primary objective was to ensure that the public could celebrate peacefully and without disruption.”
Among those detained, several were found intoxicated and causing disturbances in crowded areas, while others were caught using banned firecrackers. Police also seized a quantity of illegal fireworks during the operation.
Cases have been registered against the accused under relevant sections, and all have been produced before the court.
