Agartala, January 29, 2026: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has intensified its search for Anwar Hossain, son of Manik Mia from Karaihmura village in Bishalgarh, following serious allegations of involvement in seditious activities.
Late Wednesday night, a special NIA team, assisted by Bishalgarh police, conducted a raid in the Karaihmura area. According to reliable sources, the operation was carried out after the NIA court in Guwahati issued an arrest warrant against the accused. Acting on the court’s directive, the agency initiated the search as part of its ongoing investigation, with state police providing support.
During the raid, the joint team searched the residence of Manik Mia. Despite extensive efforts, Anwar Hossain could not be traced. Officials indicated that while the operation did not yield immediate success, the investigation will now be pursued with greater intensity.
The NIA’s renewed activity has prompted the state police administration to step up security and surveillance measures. Sources said monitoring has been extended to Hossain’s known associates and potential hideouts in an effort to determine his whereabouts.
Meanwhile, Anwar Hossain’s father, Manik Mia, told investigators that he has had no contact with his son for a long time and is unaware of his current location.
