Agartala, August 11, 2025: Acting on a tip-off, West Agartala police carried out a successful raid on a shoe shop in the Battala area, uncovering a significant stash of narcotics.

During the operation, officers seized 5.1 grams of brown sugar, 2 kg of marijuana, and ₹5,550 in cash from the premises. The raid led to the arrest of three individuals, including the shop’s owner.

According to police sources, intelligence was received indicating that the shoe shop was being used as a front for selling drugs. Acting swiftly, a team from West Agartala police station moved in, conducting the raid and making the arrests on the spot.

Authorities have initiated further investigation to trace the supply chain and identify other individuals involved in the illegal trade. Police said the arrests mark a significant step in their ongoing crackdown on narcotics trafficking in the city.
