Agartala, February 6, 2026: Acting on a tip-off, East Police Station officers conducted a raid in West Champamura, Agartala, and seized 500 bottles of Eskuf cough syrup, a banned intoxicant. Two individuals were taken into custody during the operation.

Officer-in-Charge Subrata Debnath stated that police received confidential information about a large stock of contraband stored in a local residence. Acting swiftly, a team raided the house and recovered the banned substances. The arrested individuals have been identified as Subhash Chandra Das (47) and Samir Das (40).

Both suspects, along with the seized items, were brought to East Police Station for further investigation. Authorities are probing whether others are involved in the illegal trade. Debnath confirmed that strict legal action will be taken against all those connected to the case.
