Agartala, August 27, 2025: In a late-night anti-narcotics operation, Tripura Police recovered a huge consignment of Yaba tablets valued at around ₹10 lakh near the Indo-Bangladesh border in Sonamura subdivision of Sepahijala district.
According to Officer-in-Charge of Sonamura Police Station, Tapas Das, the seizure was made during routine patrolling in the NC Nagar area adjacent to the border fencing. Police recovered 10,000 Yaba tablets packed in 50 plastic pouches, tightly wrapped with cellotape, and left abandoned.
“The narcotics were seized following due legal procedures as unclaimed property. An investigation has been launched to trace those responsible for smuggling the contraband,” Das said.
