Agartala, February 27, 2025: In a notable success for the Tripura’s NCC police station in Agartala city, police personnel conducted a raid on a residence resulting in significant drug-related seizures and an arrest.
According to a police official, the operation took place late at night prompted by information from a confidential source. The source indicated that a substantial quantity of drugs was stored in the house of Sagar Debnath, located in the Durjoynagar area.
“Acting on the information, we conducted a raid on the premises. During the search, we recovered 6 grams of brown sugar, 100 empty vials and an undisclosed amount of cash,” the officer reported.
The raid also led to the arrest of a youth named Biplab Debnath, who is believed to be actively involved in drug dealing activities. “The owner of the house Sagar Debnath has not been arrested at this time. However, Biplob Debnath, who was present during the raid, has been detained for his involvement in the purchase and sale of drugs,” the official added.
Authorities estimate the market value of the recovered drugs to be approximately Rs 4,280. The NCC police station continues its efforts to combat drug-related crimes in the area, with this latest operation marking a significant achievement in their ongoing campaign.
